Today was (finally) the day I targeted the “chicken” series of caches above Georgetown. My puppies Orizaba and Chimborazo had been bugging me for several days, reminding me with their pleading eyes that it had been too long since I’d taken them out for any decent hike in the mountains. So I considered options and decided to begin our day of adventures on this nice trail system before heading to some other hiking destinations. We drove down from Wellington early, encountering essentially no traffic through the Denver metro area as we drove south and then west toward Georgetown and the beginning of our hiking adventures. Once on the trail, it took a bit of trial and error to always be taking the correct route at the several junction points. But we were pretty efficient with the decisions and soon worked our way up to the jewel of the hike–the D 5.0/T 5.0 cache at the turn-around point. We scored on all seven of the chicken delicacies that we tried for, and were nicely sated by the time we turned to head down. Thanks for the great series of caches!!
