Looked all around for about 20 minutes with no luck...grass was pretty matted, wonder if a flood or snow displaced it...

We headed out of town on my Friday day off to do a little 4x4 exploring up towards Argentine pass, and then see Il Travatore at Central City Opera.
That first pitch up from Guanella Pass road is pretty rough. The rest of the trail had its spots, but was usually easier. We turned around a the crossing for https://coord.info/GC2CG4K (Miranda’s Jeep Adventure #1), a T5 I wanted for my Fizzy.
After working our way back out, down that last nasty section, I decided to check out this area. Only time to get the nearby chicken.
Signed the log KAJW. Took nothing. Left nothing. Thanks for the cache!
Logged from my Galaxy S8 using the Geocaching App.

Today was (finally) the day I targeted the “chicken” series of caches above Georgetown. My puppies Orizaba and Chimborazo had been bugging me for several days, reminding me with their pleading eyes that it had been too long since I’d taken them out for any decent hike in the mountains. So I considered options and decided to begin our day of adventures on this nice trail system before heading to some other hiking destinations. We drove down from Wellington early, encountering essentially no traffic through the Denver metro area as we drove south and then west toward Georgetown and the beginning of our hiking adventures. Once on the trail, it took a bit of trial and error to always be taking the correct route at the several junction points. But we were pretty efficient with the decisions and soon worked our way up to the jewel of the hike–the D 5.0/T 5.0 cache at the turn-around point. We scored on all seven of the chicken delicacies that we tried for, and were nicely sated by the time we turned to head down. Thanks for the great series of caches!!
When we reached the bridge the pups ran to the water for their first drink of the day. Of course they repeated this as we returned to the parking area later.
