Our first hide! We hope you have fun finding and learning the history (but... STAY OFF THE TRACKS!!!) Park hours are 6a-10p. Enjoy :)
"In 1976, the caboose was involved in an accident and permanently retired. It stayed in the round house at Leadville until it was purchased by Mr. Carmen Bucciarelli in the late 1970’s. He moved the caboose via flat bed truck to his place of business on North Erie Street in Pueblo. Mr. Bucciarelli wanted to have a C&S caboose on his property because the rail tracks on Erie Street at one time were the Colorado & Southern main line to Denver. It remained on display at the Erie Street location until Mr. Bucciarelli sold his business in 1989 and donated the caboose to the City of Pueblo. Kelly Trucking Services donated the time, equipment and labor to move the caboose to City Park. The Colorado and Wyoming Railroad donated the tracks on which it sits in the park." The caboose is currently available to rent for parties.
