This cache is located up the old Ute Trail, otherwise known as the trail to the Gearhart Mine. The trail is steep, with loose shale along most it. Watch your footing, bring lots of water, take your time and enjoy the veiws! (Don't focus on the steepness of the trail) There are three caches in all that I put out today, all of them are 35 mm film cannisters. All of the caches have a log, a pencil and a few "do-dads". Always good to bring your own pen/pencil, just in case! This is the Second cache I put out this morning on the way to Ute's Lookout. While on the way down, I spotted some trash that needed to be CITO'd out, so I left the trail and went to chase it down. I ended up finding a couple of pieces of old building material with rusty nails still in them, a broken toothbrush handle and an almost mint condition 2008 vintage 16 oz Budwiser can. So while I'm collecting all this booty, I'm thinking - So what's over there. Laid down the treasure and went to take a look. Not much different than the rest of the trail, BUT it is about half-way and another excellent place to take a break, away from the rest of the trail trekkers. Once rested, hit the trail, point your toes up hill and head to "A Nook & A Cranny".
CONGRADULATIONS to Pauleefox for the FTF!
*Note: The cache came up missing and has been replaced with a larger "small" container, almost a "regular"
