Brothertown

The Brothertown (Brotherton) are descendants of the Pequot and Mohegan (Algonquin-speaking) tribes in southern New England. They became a tribe in 1769 when seven Christian and English-speaking communities organized and moved to land in upstate New York. They cleared the land, planted fields and built houses while under intense pressure to again move west. The Brothertown joined their neighbors, the Oneida and the Stockbridge, and planned a move to Wisconsin. The Brothertown purchased land near Kaukauna which the United States government exchanged for the land called Brothertown Township in Calumet County. Five groups of Brothertown arrived in Wisconsin on ships at the port of Green Bay between 1831 and 1836. Upon arrival, the Brothertown cleared land and began farming after building a church near Jericho. Today, the Brothertown remain a culturally distinct Indian community with the largest concentration residing in the Fond du Lac area.

I drove up here from Denver for a nearby cache. I grabbed several others while driving South to return home. Found without any problems. The container shattered when I followed the instructions (squeeze sides). Replaced with a similar sized pill bottle. Tftc!

TSLS SL Snapped the container VERY securely.

Still working on a county run. Today I had a few counties in south east Wyoming and across the border into Nebraska to pick up. Then I headed back to Denver for my flight back. I had extra time so I cached around the airport some more picking up a lot of Mondo caches. I signed the logs as FeatheredFriends or as "FF" on the smaller logs to save space. This was my '26th' find for today. Thanks 'mondou2' for a fun time in the area.

Went out and about with Sqweeter today for some caching adventure. First we went south and then we headed north, didn't have too much time left but we did cover a couple power trails. I entered the wrong cache in my GPS and wound up passing a couple on the way here. Picked them up on the way back. Had a big pickup towing a large trailer come flying by just a little too close. Guess they didn't like me parking in the road! Thanks for the smiley! Find #2537.

Out this way to pick up a few stray NATs I need for the series. One of these days I'm going to complete it! Hot out here, but all is well with the cache. TFTH SL
