If you reach this point after climbing the hardest section of the Alkali Basin Trail which doesn't show on topo maps, you will be thrilled to see a beautiful meadow out before you and a sign mounted by Delta Search and Rescue.

This is a hard atv/ 4x4 trail and this cache should be easy to spot as you have earned it! At first glance you might think the trail ends here for sure but look across the meadow and you will be able to head across and climb up on another somewhat technical trail to a T intersection where you can turn right and continue on to the intersection with the Pipeline Trail and then go on east if you wish to the Doughspoon Reservoir or even beyond. So "Run Bambi Run"...

Out for the day to see if we can add to our cache count. Never been up here before and didn't know the road was so ROUGH! Good thing we brought the side by side. That helped but it still got really bad later on. At least we found some caches!!!!

A well deserved rest spot after the rocky climb. Beautiful mountain meadow and I was all alone. Thanks.

Trail was very, very scratchy but not as difficult as anticipated. We rated it 3.0 out of 5 for difficulty. A stock Jeep would really struggle. Scratchiness would be more like 8.0 out of 5. Thanks for putting out the series. We never would have gone there without the caches. BTW, Alkali Basin trail shows on the Forest Service MVUM for Grand Mesa.

A really tough section to get to this point, and the brush was really closed in but it was a nice jeepy trail. Nice quick find, TFTC
