This cache sits near the summit of Cupid, a 13,117-foot peak accessible from the summit of Loveland Pass. The coordinates will get you close; the spoiler photo will get you to the cache.
You're looking for a matchstick container hidden under a large rock near the summit of Cupid. Please see the spoiler picture - it's no fun to do a hike like this and come up empty-handed.

I placed this cache on my 44th birthday, shortly after becoming FTF on the cache at the summit of Grizzly Peak just south of here. I had the container with me as a replacement for that cache, just in case, but turned out not to need it. Then I realized no cache was available on Cupid, so I went ahead and hid it.

This is not the most difficult of hikes from the pass' summit parking lot, but remember, you're starting out pretty high, and the cache is hidden around 13,100 feet, so all the high-alpine safety precautions you'd take climbing a more-remote mountain should be followed. Don't attempt in bad weather, or if it looks like storm clouds are moving in. There's no cover up there, and lightning can be deadly. That being said, the views from Cupid are breathtaking. You can look slightly southeast and see the summits of Torreys and Greys peaks, and on a clear day, with good eyes, you can see people hanging out on both summits. You can see numerous other 14ers from here, as well as the A-Basin, Keystone and Breckenridge ski areas. It's a beautiful spot. I saw several families with small children and dogs up there today, so it's good for kids, too.

This cache would be very difficult to find with more than a few inches of snow on the ground.

This was our first 13k footer! We are hoping to do a 14k footer next week and this was an easy peak to train for it! We loved the views up here, but the wind was pretty fierce. I found the cache after a short search!

We had a wonderful hike this morning up to your cache. It is in a great spot and I will make it a favorite! What a view! We had our lunch there. Then we started seeing rain to the west and to the east. We went on back to the car. It looks pretty steep to go up to Grizzly Peak. Thanks for the cache. All looks good.

I've had the pleasure of hiking the high ridges above Loveland Pass on several occasions, including challenging day-trip outings over Grizzly to Torreys and back to the Divide. But never have I had the wonderful weather that icezebra11, my puppy Orizaba, and I experienced--essentially no wind in this normally windy environment! We had a marvelous day, and found a bunch of nice caches. Soon after the hike, Denali50 and I left for a month trip to the southeastern states, and as soon as we returned to Colorado I had a series of surgeries. I'm finally able to begin logging caches found in September and October, including this one!

It was especially neat to find this cache, placed on your birthday after you had given yourself a birthday present of FTF on my cache on Grizzly! Thanks, jsarche!
