Riding the Alkali Basin Trail which is not shown at this point on topo maps but keeps on going all the way from the bottom at Highway 50.  ATV's and 4x4's only at this point.  A little partially overgrown side trail takes you a short ride up to the top of a fabulous overlook...

 

You will have already done some rocky climbs but there are many tougher ones to come....at that point long wheel trucks won't make it.  BYOP

Out for the day to see if we can add to our cache count. Never been up here before and didn't know the road was so ROUGH! Good thing we brought the side by side. That helped but it still got really bad later on. At least we found some caches!!!! Oh, and don't follow the hint as it doesn't apply anymore!!!

Another great spot with an aerial view of the city. The cache has been damaged and repackaged so the hint isn't relevant. I just now saw the earlier post from allagash. Thanks to him for protecting the cache.
