While hiking somewhere in the Midwest- I picked up a couple of ticks. Well, chicken in the bread pan picking out dough, these ticks had LYME DISEASE.

Now, I’ve got to tell you that in Colorado you can’t catch Lyme Disease any sooner than you can catch a weasel asleep. But having just traveled to Booger Hollow, AR and back, getting Lyme Disease was like lickin butter off a knife.

Like having a tick isn’t gross enough now the words:
Zoonotic, Vector Borne, Meningitis, And Encephalitis are part of my every day vocabulary.

Yee Haw!

Well, I decided to make hay while the sun shines. I’ve got SOOO many antibiotic prescription pill bottles ---that, well, guess what? I’ve planted some caches.. a series… my tick series… enjoy…

“I found it” – generally those are good words from a cacher, but when referring to ticks on my leg, well, it made me madder than an old wet hen.

These varmints were stuck to me like white on rice. I hollered at Isis to aid me in my predicament and she hemmed and hawed on the best approach. After much yammering, I says to her, “fish or cut bait” and she removed the lil’ buggers for which I am eternally grateful.

Out looking for caches to fill some holes in our month placed map and D/T grid. This one took longer than expected but finally made the grab

My #2011 with David. Refreshing to have an IMMEDIATE find to avenge a DNF. It could not have been hiding like that back when I had the DNF in July 2009. No ticks but boatloads of mosquitoes. TFTC.

First stop on the way to a new hide.

I spotted it quickly and up the trail I go.

Thanks for the cache!

Lots of GPS bounce, an dlooked in a radius of 52 feet from the ever-changing GZ readout. No Smiley - and no ticks.
