Guybrush Threepwood, the wanna-be pirate from Monkey Island, has hidden a cache of childish goodies.
A fairly easy hike on a well-marked trail will get you near this cache. The actual distance to the cache is about 3/4 mile round trip (obviously depends on where you start). The cache contains toys likely to make most kids happy. Be sure to cover the ammo box well as this trail is frequently used by the neighborhood folks and their dogs. If you bring kids along, be sure to watch for cactus when you venture off the trail.

The parking worked out well and it was a pleasant walk up the trail to this cache. No one else was in the area today, so it was quiet (except for the wind). I enjoy finding the old ammo cans. Thanks for the cache.

Went for a nice long hike/jog after work today. Have explored this area from the other trailhead a number of times, and decided to approach from the other one tonight. Thank you for placing this cache!

I went for a 6.2-mile hike this day. It was supposed to be over 10 miles, but the sun was beating down on me in the morning and I had run out of water (left the extra bottles in the fridge) by the time I reached the top. I save enough in hopes that there was running water in the creek down in the draw I was crossing. Whew! There was and I didn't get sick from drinking it with no filter (double Whew!) Anyway, I got ran off by the lightning so I didn't get all that I wanted to get. TFTC!

In the area picking up older caches. Did the contents burn from a fire years ago? The newish log is in good shape. Thanks for the fun!

Tftc! Cache is still present, though might need a new logbook, as the old one if burned

Couldn't make the find on this one today. The GPS took me to a burned tree, a likely hiding spot, but I could not come up with it.

On another note, I parked at the nearby Coldwater Drive, the designated parking spot for the nearby GC6M5Z5 Milo's Meadow resurrection - AGSOM#1. While prepping for my hike, I met "Andy" who lives in the last house prior to the trail. "Andy" claimed that in order to reach the cache from Coldwater Drive, you had to pass through private property and visitors were not welcome. However, "Andy" and I hit it off and he "allowed" me to transit through. I mentioned the geocaches in the area and "Andy" said that he had requested the geocaches to be shut down; even though later in the conversation it was clear he had no idea how to do that. I'm not sure I really believed "Andy" due to the apparent heavy and recent use of the trails, 22all the caches are still there, and the lack of no trespassing / private property signs - even though "Andy" claimed he put some up. Like I said, I'm not sure I believed him; but it was clear he did not want people parking on Coldwater Drive and hiking near his house. I can foresee possible problems for other geocaches. I would recommend the CO double check the land status between the cache and Coldwater Drive. If indeed it is private property, I would suggest bumping up the terrain rating since the closest parking spot may no longer be viable.

We had some time this afternoon after visiting gamma's father at the local skilled care facility. No storms in sight today, so why not cache up the hills?! It was sobering to see the remnants of this cache---glad to see most of it made it through the fire. We found uncovered, but secured better as we left. SL with new pen :O) Thank you for bringing us to this area!
