Moderately comfortable hike up this small dry creek bed
A relatively easy creek-bed hike you'll find the trek fairly easy going - unless you take the wrong fork. I won't say more because that would spoil the fun!!

This is a smaller-sized cache (Tupperware sandwich container) which, due primarily to limited GPS coverage, may be a bit challenging to find. At the time that the cache was placed my Magellan Explorist noted that accuracy was at 30 feet. Additionally, on the trek back I took another reading which was, as I expected, slightly differently than the first ( 38°27'23.10"N - 105°52'35.94"W ) so feel free to use either.

The path will vary from sand to rock to grass. You'll pass through some narrow areas with high walls and some open areas so you should find the cache trek quite enjoyable. While I noted that this cache may not be appropriate for younger children this is mostly because of the potentiality of encountering rattle snakes; this is not an overly difficult trek in and of itself.

Within the cache, you'll find some goodies such as:
* Colorado Lapel Pin
* Wood Belt Buckle
* McDonald collectable toys
* $1.00
* 50 cent piece
* Tube of instant glue
* Belt clip for a cell phone (or ?)
And a few other small goodies.

When placing the cache, a two foot rattler was encountered mid trail. You won't have to worry about "this" rattler - but there may be others so be aware and be cautious.

Please leave the cache sealed and well hidden as it is now and please leave the "marker" in place to help those who follow.

There are a couple of different ways to approach this cache so do your homework.

Be safe and have fun.

I have had this one on my to do list for a long time. I was out early because I had to go to the bank. We parked and started up the stream bed. Cache is in GREAT shape. We took the traveler to move it along. It was starting to heat up so I'm glad we were heading back. Stamped the log and we're heading for home. [8d][8d] SL TFTC

Found it again! Welp, looks like I was the last one up there back in 2014 too. It's in good shape still. Some ice falls and at the start of the hike were really cool.

Three old guys average age 70 walked up from hwy 50. The coords were pretty close. The container is broken on one side and the hide location has deteriated since 2008 but the contents were in good shape. I added a new ziplock for the log.
Maybe the next cachers could bring a new container. The trip is worth it.

OK . . . now I just had to hit a cache that has my name in it. However, I went down CR4 heading west out of Howard towards Calcite and winded down Lower Camp Road and approached from the south. Neat little subdivision going up back there. I could see what I thought was a glacier out in the distance. I had about a half-mile hike from the road. Kicked up some deer and saw signs of elk. Came to a gate on a fence that had a sign on the OTHER side that said, "Private Property. Ideal Cement Company." I figured since I was already unknowingly trespassing, I went on. First coords were about sixty feet off but the second coords are dead-on. Hiked out but got turned a little too far to the west and popped up about a mile from my truck. All-in-all, pretty good.
