We headed up to the summit with our friends, MikeandJuli, caching all the way... on the way back down, the girls see an area begging for a cache placement. Well... they got their way...   The name will make sense once you locate the cache.

There is plenty of parking within 30 feet of the cache, or closer. Stuffed in a few goodies for the kids, (please utilize even trade, if possible, to keep future little finders happy) and a small ftf prize.

GPS'r was bouncing everywhere, and we triangulated best we could. Any major issues, please let me know.

As always, watch for traffic, critters, snow, wind... You never know what the peak will have in store. Most of all, Enjoy your stay!!

Congrats to Estes01 and Ernie66 on FTF!

Searched hint item, even laying down, but the cache eluded us this time

After the long trip to Mingo GC30 yesterday, we drove just a few miles less today. Two points of interest we wanted to see. First Dinosaur Ridge and later Pikes Peak. The weather was wonderful and so we had a great day. Amazing view over 14000 feet. Our body felt the high. Footsteps and Bones of the old time were very cool. On our visits we search and found some caches. On our way back to the hotel we stop for a Challange cache and now we have a 5 / 5 Found in Colorado.
Of course thanks to all the owners of the caches for the caches and the work behind. And sorry that we have not the time for individual logs.
Greetings from Duesseldorf – Gerresheim / Germany

We are visiting Colorado for the first time from Southern California before heading down to Arizona for Thanksgiving. Took sometime to find as the temperature we're really cold and slowed my progress but eventually I found. Love the hide and thanks for placing. TFTC

Finding caches on the way up to the top. Beautiful day to be at the top as there wasn't a cloud in the sky

On a Fall trip through Colorado doing some caching and seeing the sites. A beautiful scenic drive through Rocky Mountain National Park. Visiting the downtown areas of Boulder, Denver, Castle Rock and Colorado Springs to name a few. We enjoyed a beautiful hike on the Barr trail at the Summit of Pikes Peak. It was a wonderful trip with quite a bit of caching thrown in along the way.
We arrived at the entrance this morning and were second in line. When the ranger came by to talk with us they recommended we go straight to the top as there was an 80% chance of snow. We took her advice. We had sun on the way up and during our hike then the clouds rolled in and we endured snow, hail, sleet and rain on the way down. This made for an interesting day of caching with all the stops, but we survived and had fun. Thanks for placing this one.

I wish I had known that the road had been opened to general traffic after I had passed GZ without being able to stop going to the summit and back as I was on a shuttle bus; I wanted this one for a couple of challenge caches. Oh well, TFTC anyway!

Caching with VeesMom on Labor Day on top of Pikes Peak and along the road there. We saw that an event had been scheduled for this day and thought it would be cool to score a 14,000 foot event. We were concerned that the area would be open as there was a several inches snowfall two days before our visit. We were advised at the entrance that there was fog at the top. Drivable but no viewing. We proceeded anyway after paying the $26 entrance fee. By the time we arrived on top the fog had cleared, the sky was cloudy but Colorado Springs and every reservoir along that line of sight were visible. One of us had actually climbed that mountain about 30 years ago. The top has changed considerably due to construction which is still ongoing. Finding the various caches hidden in the rocks was made more difficult by the snow covering and extreme slipperiness. One cache was apparently under the snow, so we placed a replacement nearby (bison) under a cairn of rocks. Met with the hosts for the event. Great day and well worth the trip. Thanx to the various CO's for placing the caches.
