This cache was placed after the Mountain Pizza and 4x4 Adventure event. However, the 'adventure' wasn't quite over at the event... daveandgina were left stranded in the rock garden, enjoying a little unplanned camping around a camp fire, while a new tierod was stuck in atypical I-70 traffic, awaiting delivery to the crew in Idaho Springs.
After sunset, four Jeeps ( n0wae, RocketMan, zoltig and climbstuff) headed back up the mountain on the SAR mission. The tierod repair went smoothly and we easily crawled out of the rocks, but something had to go wrong... zoltig ignored his GPSr track (bread crumbs), fell behind the group, and took a wrong turn. Thus providing this cache a chance to hide as the rest of us waited. Eventually all five Jeeps made it off the mountain to cache another day.

Had a great day caching with OF-Erad and K9Jayhawk. The day started with a puzzle find, then a MEGA event and to top it off we 4X4'ed our way across Idaho Springs, CO to Georgetown, CO and then headed south to the Honey Badger lair. Thanks for sharing this cache, Semper Fi- OMUSMC.

Long Sunday cache run with OF-Erad and OscarMikeUSMC. The day started at Geowoodstock and then transferred West to the hills between Idaho Springs and Georgetown chasing some 4x4 caches, most of which hadn't been found for awhile...TFTC SL

I like the story of how this cache came to be!
Found this in the dark as I was heading off the mountain.
Cache is still in great shape and dry.
