Discover Telluride History! Hike up Bear Creek Trail to the location of a long-abandoned mill where this geocache is hidden. Tucked in this cache is the fascinating history (and a photo) of Bear Creek Mill. Look for a small metal container.
Bear Creek Trail (elevation gain 1,092 ft) is a popular trail due its beautiful waterfall. It can be easily accessed from the Town of Telluride - the trailhead can be found on the south end of S Pine St. This is a moderate, wide trail that is well-traveled by both bikers and hikers, as well as backcountry skiers, fatbikers and showshoers in the winter (Bear Creek is very avalanche-prone in the winter and spring - take caution!). A steady 2.5-mile climb leads to upper Bear Creek Falls.
This cache was created by the Telluride Historical Museum. We’ve hidden several historic caches throughout the area—be sure to find them all!
