The cache location is just east of Mt. Herman with a 360 degree view. Elevation 7245. The cache is just off the trail, no bushwacking necessary. The trail will take you around the government land and to the cache. It is a nice area for a walk. The scrub oak is beautiful in the fall.
You can park in several areas to reach the cache. Look for a regular ammo box. This area appears to be a popular area to rest, so please hide the cache as well if not better than you found it. Again, the trails take you AROUND the government land to the cache, no need to bushwack or trespass. Thanks!

Should we go back to the geomobile or trek further from Chicken Free. Why not trek and enjoy the hike. Got on the wrong side of the fence and had to crawl under it in a place we seniors could manage, only 200 ft away. That's what we get when we don't know the area very well, made the find and dropped off some swag.

Another nice view! I had to wait out a few muggles on horseback, but then was able to make the find. On my way down from the cache, 2 helicopters landed at the nearby helitak base. Very neat to see them fly in, probably coming back from the fire near Canon City. One of the helicopters was a duel blade Kaman, which are so strange looking with the blades offset from each other. TNLN

Orignially when the weather said it would be 50's and sunny AFO and I planned a hike around Mt. Herman. The weather quickly changed. Big Beautiful snowflakes didn't stop us, neither did the detour through the barbed wire fences. Fun!! Beautiful day, nice hike with a few finds, now on to warm up in town with some Shine. TFTC
