A huge thanks to my buddy CO_GPS_Guy for getting me started with Geocaching. One of his caches (USAFA overlook) is toward the beginning of this trail. This is my first placed cache. Good Luck.

Congratulations to Hartsdale for being the First to Find! Glad you found it and were able to revisit some great memories from the past!

 Hints

The Cache is ~70 yards off the Stanley Canyon Trail. Look for a rock formation and an aspen within. The top of the container comes off with some effort.

Met with WingsAndTales with the purpose of driving to the end (almost) of Schubarth Road and walking to Stanley Canyon (almost) to get this cache. Starting at the AF Academy was WingsAndTales' choice, but I'm too lazy. If there is ever a shorter hiking route to a cache, I will choose it. Haven't driven all the way down Schubarth since June 2014. Recent grading and the creation of water diversion humps on the road has made it suitable for even a Subaru to drive down Smile Beautiful walk to the cache. Nicely done on the container! Thank you for bringing us back there.

Last time I was in the area was back in 2013 and some things have changed, a lot more erosion, trees down and the big one no water in Stanley.

Back in the early 70’s I spent a lot of time back in here camping and fishing and a few times a week trail run up and down after work with my Collie that started up here as a puppy and was able to clear through the falls.

After a few years my Collie would beat to the top of the falls and bark at the top as I approached.

Thanks for the cache and some great memories to go with it!
