The clue helped make this an easy find, since the slope with gobs of hiding places can be exhausting. There was a little snow from yesterday still in the shade, so made for a fun day of hiking. TFTC,TNLN

So, we had heard much about this particular trail while doing some homework on our trip to Colorado Springs.

Thinking we had been in town long enough to have acclimated to the elevation change, we thought we were ready for the challenge. My initial plan was to hike for a lonely cache in Raspberry Mountain, but this one was just calling our name!

We had some problems finding the trailhead. Thought for sure there was going to be a more obvious sign from the road, but all we passed was one that was marked Crags CG. That's the road you want to take!

Then, it's a mere 3 miles up a gravel road until you get to the parking lot. We thought we were going to have to pay a fee, but didn't see anything at the trailhead.

So innocent looking at first. That little bridge to cross into the woods. And then you go up...and up...and up some more. Roughly 10,000 feet at this point. Took a lot of "photos" along the way...mostly just to rest and catch my breath! Big change for this couple where the elevation in MN is in the 900 feet range!

Loved seeing some wildflowers still in bloom. And yes, the BIG boulders along the way!

Took a couple of side trips to go see them up close! That was fun.

Finally got within range of the the cache...and yep...we are going UP! Made our way over fallen branches and big rocks to reach the cache. Whew! Nice climb and view from here.

This would be only one of 3 caches I could find out here on this trip. But it was enough! Tough hike for this couple from MN.

Passed this one when we were here a few weeks ago. Back to take fall pix today, and figured I'd make thebgrab while I was here. A lot of the aspens are already past their prime colors! Frown

Left a Navy coin TB because it was rattling around too loudly in its case. SL. TFTC!

TFTC I joined AllenMabry for a bit of caching in the Crags area. It is a cloudy cool day.
We headed up the hill and found this one in good shape. Thanks for another Smiley face on the map!
