A small cache in a green verdant valley. A great day-hike destination.
This small cache is located in a green, verdant valley off of the Old Stage Road. Because of the moisture that the valley receives, you may see unusual plants for this area including ferns and wild orchids. A decent trail follows a historic water pipeline up the valley and since it is a little leaky, you may get a chance for a quick cool-off on a hot day. The trail is also used by equestrians from the nearby Emerald Valley Ranch, so watch your step! There is parking for a couple of cars at the trailhead with more room nearby. You don't need to traverse private property to reach the valley and the cache.

Congrats to hartsdale for the FTF!!

We spent Mother's Day hiking Sugar Loaf Mountain and down into Emerald Valley. It was a beautiful day and this cache was just what the doctor ordered. Blissful, intoxicating silence and amazing views!

With the kids out of town with their youth group it was up to the geopup and I to find an adventure. I haven't been down this trail before so we decided to explore the valley. Beautiful hike. Sl, thanks!

Big Ol' caching hike today - went off trail to the south from here to get all the ones up to Blue Mountain. I took a minute to do a touch of moisture management here... things are doing well for the most part. The whole valley does look great with flowers from all the rain!
