This cache is up the road to Waldorf Mine, a 4 x 4 road. The dogleg this cache is on is a circle, though, so you won't wind up on a road to nowhere. That's not happy.
Beautiful overlook of the vale.I found myself on my ATV without my iPod. Not bad, but what do you think about when you're drivin' up the trek. I really didn't want to think about the laundry list of "to do" that was waiting for me at home. I started singing a song from my childhood that my mom sang on road trips. Remember this one??
"The Happy Wanderer" I love to go a-wandering Along the mountain track And as I go, I love to sing My knapsack on my back.
Val-a-ree, val-a-rah, Val-a-ree, val-a-rah ha ha ha ha ha Val-a-ree
I love to wander by the stream That dances in the sun So joyously it calls to me, Come join my happy song.
I wave my hat to all I meet And they wave back to me. The bluebird calls so loud and sweet From every greenwood tree
High overhead the skylarks wing, They never rest at home, But just like me they love to sing As o'er the world we roam

09/28/2015 By Back Country Horsemen After visiting Waldorf & the Santiago Mine a bit further up this was on our way back so I talked the Huggle into stopping to find it. He drove the Montero part of the way down this rougher 4WD road because he just didn't want to hike down the hill that far. We did have to park and walk the final .2 because the road got too rough. Now need to head down & pick up the last 2 caches we passed on the way up & try to get out before dark.
