A fun cache on a 4x4 trail. Available June through September.

What is it?

by nickgatt and killian33

We couldn't figure out what this structure was used for--maybe a miniature alien ski jump, but I doubt it.

Larger than a 35mm film can, but not by much.

From everytrail.com: "Moderate. Rocky at the start and very narrow at the top of Argentine Pass. Much of the lower route is easy unless you take alternate route 248.1B along creek. Snow can block trail well into summer. Need aggressive stock SUV with low range."

Cache is on 248.1B!

I don't know how to rate this cache. We hiked it. It wasn't too hard. We did see a Jeep Liberty on 248.1 stuck in the snow (in June).

Have fun!!!

Congratulations to Team Boogity3 for FTF!

Heading down hill on my way out, so I had plenty of time to poke around.

Looks like the old mine shaft is still caving in.

I always wonder if it did with miners hard at work.

Thanks!

We found a road that took us from the main (easier) road down to the creek road & to this cache. We knew we wanted to go on up so turning around was a bit of a challenge but we made it.
