Right alongside the road is a treestump with a Tic Tac Toe board carved into it. After a couple of quick games, hopefully you won't get stumped, you want to project a point 165 feet (give or take a few feet) on a heading of 246 degrees. You'll find a matchstick container with a log in it.

Well, I found the tic tac toe but must have given a few feet instead of taking. There were plenty of possibilities but I didn't find the right one. Thanks for the puzzle.
