Cowboy was riding out of the east side of Cortez, when huge burly man came running toward him. The stranger was dressed in dirty buckskins, and he wore an old torn coyote fur hat. But when the stranger pulled his six shooter and started waving it around, Cowboy got real nervous

Cowboy quickly slipped off the rawhide lace holding his own Colt 44 in the holster in case he needed to draw it real fast. But the big guy thrust out his bare hand introducing himself as Jerome Higgins, a well-known trapper in the upper Gunnison. He said, "Cowboy my horse stumbled and tossed me in the creek. My old Army .44 fell in the water and hit the rocks. Now the trigger won't pull smooth. I heard you are a good hand with firearms. Do you think you can fix it". Cowboy dismounted and the two men found a shade tree to get out of the midday sun. Cowboy spun the cylinder to make sure the gun was not loaded. He said, "I once saw a pistol like this that was jammed by a piece of rock that was stuck inside. Looks like yours is too." Cowboy took out his knife and eased out the stone. He then tried the trigger and the gun worked perfectly. He handed the pistol back to Jerome and said "You should get a bit of grease to loosen up the stiffness but it will work fine". Jerome thanked Cowboy offering a beaver fur in exchange for the favor. Cowboy declined but then Jerome insisted that Cowboy go with him down to the Big R saloon for a cool drink.

Truck parked in front of it, a man sleeping. I was very sneaky and picked a flower to reward myself.

This one took awhile until I found a hint in the logs. Made the easy find after that. Found in the morning after staying the night in Cortez.
