Dogs  Significant hike  Available at all times  Off-road vehicles  Medium hike (1km-10km)  Seasonal Access

A medium-sized cache just off a 4WD road loop near The Notch and Pole Hill.  It can be accessed by appropriate vehicles in season when the gate is open at Pole Hill Road; otherwise, it can be hiked.  The total distance is about 5 miles round-trip.

This cache was placed by members of a local hiking group, the Trail Trekkers, during a geocaching ramble on the 4WD roads on Pole Hill.  As with the other caches in the vicinity, it is best reached by staying on the road (rather than cutting cross-country).  At the far point of the road loop, not far NW of this cache, be sure to follow the short road spur to a rocky overlook with panoramic views of the Estes Park area.  Along the loop you will also pass a short remnant of an old wooden roadbed that we think used to be a route into Estes Park.

The cache itself is a medium-sized Pelican box, a little smaller than an ammo box.  Please make sure the box is replaced in its hideyhole well, so that it is not visible to casual passers-by.  The cache name was chosen by the group; it's a nod to the fact that most of us are seniors, but so far we're still hiking and finding our way back home just fine!

Very well hidden!! After searching with my phone for some time, I had to get my handheld gps out for a more accurate location! Even then it took some extra searching! We were very excited when we found it

We live in the area and decided we’ve procrastinated about finding these newer caches for too long. So the Better Half and I jumped in the Jeep to make sure we still have the knack. We hit a grand slam today... 4 for 4! Glad that you gave us a good reason to get out on this beautiful day. TNLNSL. TFTC.

Great container! Cache was in the open so we put a rock and a branch in front of it. Thanks for placing this cache for us to find. TNLN SL
