Love them or hate them, Ground Squirrels (A.K.A: Prairie Dogs) are present in most of Colorado and can be seen frequently on the Hidden Mesa Trail. At the coordinates, find the sign about Prarie Dogs to answer the following questions to get the coordinates:

N 39° 24.ABC, W 104° 47.DEF

A - How many "prairie dog adaptations" are shown?

B - How many prairie dog "pups" are shown in the Nest Chamber?

C - The amount of prairie dogs in the picture + the number of snakes in the picture.

D - The amount of "prairie dog ranges."

E - The answer to part "A" x 3.

F - The number of bullet points under "Can Praire Dog colonies survive?"

This should be a relatively easy puzzle and a relatively easy hide to find, however, PLEASE watch your step! This is a rattlesnake area with multiple cacti and yucca plants. Please be careful! No need to BYOP and the cache has plenty of room for TBS and swag. Have fun finding!

Looks like a critter (ground squirrel?) got to the container and contents. Only had a CITO bag with us so put everything in the bag. Needs a replacement container as we didn't have on with us.

Unfortunately a critter (possibly it's namesake?) discovered this cache and left the lid in pieces and the container exposed. We did our best to find the contents in the snow and tuck the container into a hole, but the CO or next finder may want to bring a new container.

Found with Java Chip on New Year's Eve! Tried to get to 2019 caches before 2019 ended, but fell a little short. 2020 caches in 2020 should be a more achievable goal! Fun puzzle and great views up here. TFTC!

A fun caching day with animjason, and Bhob.

I ended up finding 13 caches, lucky! Grabbed a few that they already had along the way. Thanks!

Thanks Rockets08! Logged The Treacherous Ground Squirrel from a ninth galaxy using c:geo!

Out and about on a warm and sunny late spring day with "animjason" and "BearAdair" - this was the eighth of eleven geocaches that I found along the way. TN-LN-SL. Thanks !

Another find of the day with BearAdair and Bhob. We are clearing out Franktown, and Hidden Mesa Open Space today. Found over a dozen caches for BearAdair, we already had a handful of them.

Picked up the trackable to take to WA next week. Thanks for a fun, and quick solve.

Great field puzzle cache! The calculations weren't too tricky. The path out to the sign was very muddy as it had just rained heavily. I was slipping around in my trail shoes. I enjoyed the walk and the cache - thanks.

Today's adventure led us ( @intrepiidexplorer and @WindAtMyBack ) to the wilderness east of Castle Rock. We walked into Hidden Mesa to grab the caches and experience this beautiful day. The weather was cooperative - sunny, but not too hot. During our expedition we saw several hawks, caught and released a fence lizard, and saw a few wild turkeys. Cactus flowers are in bloom. No snakes were sighted, but we saw evidence that one had recently crossed the walking path.
We were able to solve this one on the fly while we gathered the necessary info from the sign. Well done! I dropped a TB. I think prairie dogs are awesome and am saddened to know that their habitat is being limited and colonies are being eliminated or relocated. TFTC!

This one challenged me technologically. I figured out the answers with only one that I was a bit unsure about & plugged the new coordinates into my Cachly app. What? It’s only 20’ away? That didn’t make sense so back to to sign, recheck my answers 3+ times, still the same results. Only one thing left to do-reboot. Delete the old answer renter the same coordinates and Lo & behold a much more reasonable distance that now makes sense. Got it!

Dropped the dogs off for grooming and headed to Hidden Mesa for a hike. Enjoyed solving the puzzle and reading the info. TNLNSL. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache!
