Looks like lots of folks come this way to catch some rays! The northern side of the trail is closed for wildlife needs, so I headed south and parked in the lot off Monarch. I think this was a good day - the cold kept both the snakes and the muggles away. :) I had to dump some water out of the cache and the log was soaked so I put in a new one. Thanks for the smiley! Find #3512.
Have a quiet weekend so I decided to grab a few for the 360 degrees of Colorado challenge. Hopped in the car kinda early and headed south. When I started out it was 64 degrees and sunny, the rain rolled in and it dropped down to 48 in a hurry. I enjoyed my hikes today, lots of flowers, rocks, cactus and birds to look at. I'll probably hit a few more tomorrow, it will be awesome to get to below 100 red rays!

Container was very muddy, but log was dry and I was happy. Thanks for the cache.
I parked at Daniels Gate Park and hiked one section of the trail and then doubled back to the car. I was not sure I would have enough time to grab all the caches on my list, but I did. So I continued on and hiked the other side of the trail. The trail is in great condition and there were less than 5 areas of mud/snow and it was close to 75 degrees in the afternoon. For the first time in about 6 months, I actually broke a sweat while hiking. I found all of the caches that I went after (16/16). I was planning to grab 4 more that were part of a series, but that section of the trail is closed until April. I had a great day, and I love caching in the winter/early spring because there is less bushwhacking involved and the caches are not as well hidden. Also less muggles. Total mileage for the day was about 7.5 miles in about 4 hours. Thanks to everyone for the caches here on the trail.

I'm grabbing as many caches as possible before the end of the year. I cheated a little and parked nearby to make the grab. The cache might not be pretty, it it is not broken and is water tight. Signed the dry log. Tftc!

Wet inside. Most of the signatures gone.

Hidden well. A bit concerned with the tall grass and potential snake area. Otherwise fun!

It was a great day to be on the trail. A very light rain kept most people off. Just encountered a few bikers and one other person walking their dog. My geodog, Jack, always wants to play with any other dogs he encounters so I was fine not seeing hardly any others!
Although the container may not be ideal, everything was dry inside and no issues so I'll take it! I rehid it where I found it but covered it with some camo to help keep it dry for the next finder.
Thanks for the hide jahagen. I appreciate you keeping this cache active for everyone to enjoy.

Picked this one up while in the local area. I'm not sure this is a good container as it doesn't keep the water out. The log was very wet, but I tried to sign it the best I could. I accidently left a little blood from the nearby barbed wire on the log, so if my find is in doubt from a weak signature, there is plenty of DNA to test to verify my find. Thanks to the CO for placing this cache for everyone to find, TFTC.
