Located on the South Fork Trail in the Conejos valley of the Rio Grande National Forest.
Half way between Chama, NM, and Antonito, CO, where highway 17 crosses the Conejos river, head up stream on the dirt road that follows the river toward Platoro Reservoir. Park at the trail head for the South Fork trail at 37deg 13.889'N - 106deg 27.850W. Follow the trail down, across the bridge and back up the other side. There is considerable elevation change and the cache elevation is at 9150' so take your time if not used to the altitude. The cache is in container made out of 4" PVC Pipe.

Checked up on cache, Cache was there but full of water. I have taken cache out to repair it and will replace it in a few days.

This is a great place to hike. We hiked both these trails from the split a few years ago. We had a real hard time unscrewing the cap. By the log it looks like its been 2 years since it was opened. A lot of water came out and everything was soaked. The log was too wet to write in. It's probably because it has poured every day for the last week. TFTC

Found on the way out from the wilderness with my son. This is a beautiful area. Have had a lot of recent rains and container had a significant amount of water inside. Log OK for now. SL. TN LN. TFTC!
