An easy cache on a pleasant stroll down the Rainbow Gulch Trail
Shep fetching his Bone!!
“George of the Jungle” made his mark at the head of Rainbow Gulch Trail and has gone on the fame, fortune and love. His “dog”, Shep, is still wandering around these hills searching because he lost his favorite bone - - again!! If he shows up, we highly recommend let him have it, for sure!!

Cache is a bit large as micros go and is a log-only. Bring your own pencil, too. The end of the “bone” is friction fit and will twist off easily. Beware of muggles that may suddenly round the hairpin!

Shep’s Bone can be approached from several directions but the logical way is from the parking area at the Rainbow Gulch trailhead. It will be about a mile and one-half round trip and a total elevation gain/loss of little over 200’

We recommend continuing your stroll down to the lake and pick up other geo-offerings - make up your mind by the bridge whether to go to the left or right along the lakeshore. There are more caches in either direction. Good Luck

Grobert and GrammiesGeoFun on our trek across America working on our list of contiguous counties. We are enjoying the ride through an area we lived near 25 years ago. Wonderful location for a hide. We appreciate the thought and effort that goes into creating these hides. Thank you for giving the rest of us a challenge. Practicing CITO.

Last one of the day. We found it quickly and then Olive decided she was going to get muddy for the ride home. I guess she WILL be getting a bath today. Stamped the log and we're heading for home. [8d][8d] SL TFTC

Came to the cache and found quickly. Since the container was wet and the log mushy wet we just relalced it all. Coords were good. SmileSmileSmile
