Cache located in Rio Grande National Forest, near Poncha Pass. Take the BLM turnoff on Hwy 285 at 38 22.179W and 106 02.321 N. Head east on dirt road past old gravel pit. Will cross creek. Immediately past creek is a short steep hill but is passable with 2 wheel drive though high clearance and 4WD would be a good thing. Just past the creek the road splits to the left - don't go left, stay to the right. Just past the BLM gate is the sign for Rock Creek and Decker Creek. Sign is at 38 22.179 W and 106 02.321 N, 1.7 miles from the highway turnoff. The right fork is for Rock Creek and left is for Decker Creek. This is actually a loop. I recommend going right to Rock Creek and then coming back down Decker Creek. The loop is about 6.5 miles and pretty slow due to rockiness of road (not big rocks). Cache is near a "T" in the road. Once you find the cache and are ready to head back you can turn around or head north to Decker Creek and it will bring you back to the gate by the sign. The drive to Decker Creek is a very nice drive through a large aspen grove. On this loop you can see antelope, elk, deer and maybe a bear. Lots of nice camping spots too. Enjoy.

After finding GMU-82 Geowife and I decided to drive a little further and grab this one since it was less then a mile away. Took you advice and did the loop, great ride really enjoyed the part through the Aspens. Cache is is great shape, log is dry and container intact. Thanks for getting us out here.

Today's travels took us from Antonito to Florence in a roundabout way. We stopped for several caches along the way, even in a light afternoon rain.
We enjoyed our loop drive, especially thru the aspens. I found the cache in good shape. Thanks for the fun!

Found the cache with no problems. Enjoyed the rocky road, bounced all over in the jeep. It was a beautiful day. Took car and trailer, left Canadian bracelet, as we are from Dawson Creek, B.C.

Had a real nice day to hunt a cache. Had a picnic in the area of the cache, great spot. Went back by way of Decker Creek. Must have been the first one since winter. Had to move about four fallen trees, luckily they were small enough to be moved by 2 senior citizens. TFTC. T-key holder, L-caculator

Nice weather and no snow on the ground which is surprising for this late in November. This is a rather long and slow drive up to the cache, but is scenic and worth the time. If you park at the second gate (the green one, which is where another cache is) you can have a nice 3/4 - 1 mi. hike to the cache.
