Now that you’re in the National Forest…

Shortly after passing the National Forest sign, you can find a pull-off on the right, or in a larger turnaround on the left (east) side of the road.

This is the fourth of a series of micros along the Oak Creek Grade. There are seven colors in the Rainbow Series, starting with Silver and ending with Gold. Plus, there is one last bonus cache at the end.

There are a few cache types that I really don’t like:

1 – Micro tubes in general

2 – Tubes hanging in trees

3 – Caches with no room for trade items or trackables.

All three of these techniques were used here.

Be careful when searching the GZ. Some of the rocks underfoot may be prone to roll.

Congratulations LeewayeDiscGolf for FTF!

Love the story about the way you found it. If you had changed the posted coordinates by one minute, the north minutes from 18 to 19, it might have been easier. But you did great.

Now that the correct coordinates are posted, nobody else will have your adventure.

TFTC Either the coordinates are still 50 feet off or more likely our phones weren’t being very accurate. Might want to approach this one with a real GPS

FTF! with nite_raven at 7:20am. This was still disabled and way out there when we were up here this morning. I really didn't want to have to come clear back for one cache. So all the way up and down we watched for likely spots based on your description. We spotted this spot on the way up. After getting all the series above, we stopped here to try our luck. GZ and the nearby area were the first places we searched but missed it. Expanded to the other side for awhile, neat area to explore, but still found nothing. Eventually we drove down to the sign, but based on the cache name quickly turned around and came back. This was the only In the forest, small pull off, turnaround, and rolling rock spot we'd seen all day. This time we managed to spot some blue within just a few minutes. Signed a blank log and took some more wildflower photos. After finishing the series we went to DQ to try the new breakfast and I logged our FTFs. This was still disabled then. It wasn't until we were back in Pueblo when it was updated and enabled. Although it definitely would have been easier once it was enabled again, I think this was more fun, more satisfying, and my favorite cache of the day.
