Short distance from cemetery and schoolhouse. Joseph Bainbridge Doyle, bought 600 acres of land in 1859 from Cornelio Vigil and Ceran St. Vrain. He built irrigation ditches and began cultivating it. He also established one of the first flour mills in Colorado. Established his family and named his house "Casa Blanca"
At this time Pueblo was just starting to develop...in the winter of 1859-60, a few cabins were built in the vicinity of First & Santa Fe Ave.

Drove out today to find Teresita Sandovals grave. I portray her as a character who lived on Hardscrabble (which she did) and have learned to love her. Not the greatest of cell phone service but thanks.
