Dogs  Recommended for kids  Takes less than an hour  Scenic view  Available at all times  Available during winter  Stealth required

Once you drink from the waters, you will always return to this country!

Small pull off from paved County Road 300 (Soda Springs Road-Fish Hatchery Road). Slight Downhill walk for a few feet.
Look for a camo pill bottle w/ logbook and pencil.

Bring a cup, sit a spell and Wet yer Whistle!
This site is the active Soda Springs!
Water tastes like "iron" with a "tingle".

Our childhood stories are when we took gallons of this water back to the house to make Soda Pop!
We used the powdered root beer mix and presto........
Instant Volcanoe!
Mt. St. Helens would be jealous!

Enjoy the view too!

Don't forget to stop by the Fish Hatchery and look at the fishes!

Our 4th cache of the day. We are using the Leadville area as our basecamp for hiking adventures over the long Labor Day weekend. After climbing three 14ers and two 13ers in three days, we were resting this afternoon. Stopped by the fish hatchery and hiked the nature loop, then drove toward Turquoise Lake. Pulled off the road to check out the spring. Quick cache find. We did not taste the water, but did smell and feel it. While it is likely safe, we just did not want to take any chances of intestinal distress while on vacation. Interesting location though. Thanks for showing us this spot.
