Hike one mile up the Lion's Lair trail to the large rock in the middle of the trail. Hikers often use the rock as a one mile marker. This was our first geochache hiding experience, during quarantine no less. A very fun adventure for a son and mother! My 11 yr. old hid it. Bring your own pen. Let us know if it needs maintenance.

It is often used as a one mile land mark point on the trail for hikers and runners. No dogs allowed. No bikes allowed.

Saw the notification for this one last night. I’m not much of a hiker so I wasn’t planning to try it today, but my 17 year old son convinced me to give it a go. I figured it was only a mile. Of course a mile up Mt. Sanitas feels like more than a mile, but we got to the rock, found the likely hiding spot, with smaller rock as described in hint. No cache! Looked all around- nada! Then I noticed this was hidden over two weeks ago even though it only published yesterday. It’s likely been stolen, muffled, absconded, etc. If you decide to replace it, I’d suggest hiding it off the trail a little ways (and updating coords of course.) I think it was too obvious in the middle of the trail to remain hidden.
