Scenic view  Abandoned mines  Off-road vehicles

This cache is located along a historic narrow-gauge railroad bed that is now a scenic 4WD trail. This is an optional spur trail that is very steep and narrow. If you're driving, a short wheel base is recommended. There is a tight switchback that will most likely require a few adjustments to make the corner. There are mining artifacts and buildings in the area - that's why we put the cache here.

The spur begins around N 40° 01.781 W 105° 26.416 (also listed as an additional waypoint).

The cache is a standard ammo can hidden a little bit away from the mining artifacts.

Incredibly frustrating... zig zagged all the way down this mountain for nothing and and many scratches while at it. GPS bounces everywhere and I looked in all decent hiding spots for ammo can. Also, this is higher than terrain 3

I'm a little behind in logging my caches... found this one back in April while out jeeping with Team Red Rubicon.

I don't know what is the right way to approach this but I know I didn't do it. Circled around the cache several times thanks to significant GPS bounce but eventually made the find. Love the camo job! TFTC!

Hah, very cool, I enjoyed the artifacts. I was a little perplexed at how the little pond was draining, since they had diverted part of the creek into it. There was a pipe that seemed to be responsible, but it's not visible in the pond. It's probably completely covered with sediment, I'm surprised it's still able to drain. The shack by the creek was interesting, too. Maybe a little power house?

I had some difficulty figuring out how to approach the cache. I tried from above, then from below. Then I figured out there was a little grade I could follow, though it was overgrown. After some light bushwhacking I finally made it to GZ and found the container.
