Wow. Found this long lost cache listed about 2 months ago. Plotted and planned and plotted some more. Came up with 2 best case attempt plans. 1 though the start of Queens canyon. 2 off of rampart range road. Finnaly I had some time to approach the task. Thanksgiving day I set out to scout both start locations on the ground rather than just maps. Well start location 1 was closed and unable to enter. Start location 2 looking better but not enough daylight left to attempt. Today. Starting from point one finding it gated off and no trespassing signs I went to 2. One hour hike down I found someone's scavenger hunt treasure close to GZ. Not it. Looking around some more. GPS bouncing. Read the clue again and made the FIND! No longer lonely! TNLN TFTC!!!! Great day!
On the bike heading on

Beautiful day to be in this canyon! There were others in the punch bowl getting cooled off but the cache is far enough away to be discrete. My GPS wanted to take me part way up the cliff so after scrambling up, I looked at the hint and found that wasn't necessary.
Thanks

I got a chance to hike up the Canyon this morning with 24 others. ( I hauled them here )
I have hiked through the area before a few times many years ago.
About the only difference is the trail is wider in alot of places.
Great place for a cache, we all had lunch and headed back down.
I grabbed the cache and all 24 never saw me stamping the log and putting the cache back.
Thanks for a good one!

SwimFin found this cache in good shape. TN, left a TB, SL. Thank you very much for placing and maintaining this cache. Cheers, SwimFin.

What a great hike/day. Went with a group of friends up the canyon. GPS was not nice today as it bounced around more than a kid loaded with sugar. When we got to the area I gave the GPS to one of those kids. He pointed us up the side of the hill and across a tricky ledge which yielded nadda. Gave up and headed around to see if I could top out above the bowls for some pics. The slope proved to steep right above the bowls. (I was worried about kicking a small rock over the edge) so went back down and enjoyed the views from below. Collected the GPS and it was giving me a new location followed that and BINGO! Great hide. Made it a favorite for sure!

Enjoyed an excellent March day (60s) to introduce ourselves to Queen's Canyon. Still quite a bit of ice to deal with above the cache of that same name but micro-spikes make all the difference - they are amazing accessories! Cache "weathered" the winter well. Thanks for creating this (first) cache along the trail!

Finally remembered to do more than hike in Queen's Canyon. TFTC.

Always an adventure when I'm hiking and caching with WingsAndTales. Starting at the trailhead on Rampart Range Road and using WingsAndTales superior navigating skills to make sure we stayed on track, we were able to get within a couple of hundred feet of the cache. Now, how to get across… I have to say that those pools looked very inviting, but one of them must have been at least 3 feet deep, and there was too much distance between the pools to throw the backpacks. Plus, I could visualize us slipping on the bottom, or on the slick rock as we attempted to get out of the pools. In fact, it would have been impossible to get out of the last pool on the way back. In the end, there was only one way to do it. The bouldering issue was not the fear of slipping and landing in the water (unless we landed in a very shallow area), it was the large boulders we would hit or bounce off of before we hit the water. Clinging by our fingers and the toes of boots that suddenly became more cumbersome than helpful, we were able to make it without mishap. I agree with WingAndTales…if you plan to do this cache and Queen's Canyon, come from the Glen Eyrie direction, or bring your swimsuit and a watertight bag for your backpack. It took us a while to find the cache, but at least we did it dry. TFTC.

I apparently insist on doing things the hard way but at least you can learn from my mistakes. Estes01 and I parked on Rampart Range Road and hiked down into Queens Canyon(good trail shown on the Pikes Peak atlas) intending to get this one, Queen's Canyon and then go up to Hidden Falls "overlook". Well we got within 200 feet of the cache and realized the Punch Bowls were between us and it. The water looked great but the pools were deep in spots and it looked impossible to get back up by going through the pools. While we were standing there considering our options, a guy and girl started up from the other end of the bowls, bouldering around the water. He made it look easy and even helped us find a route down. With his help it was doable but still a bit scary. We found the cache after a bit of a search(we had to use the hint) and continued on down to Queen's Canyon. Coming back up we saw what looked like a side trail that would take us around to bowls but it didn't get us anywhere that looked safe to drop back down. If there is a way around it would be a long hike. We went back to the bowls and decided to brave the bouldering without our guide. We helped each other through it and didn't fall or get wet. For those of you that are not good at bouldering, I suggest doing this on a hike up from Glen Eyrie and turning around at the Punch Bowls. TFTC
