Takes more than an hour  Scenic view  Significant hike

A spot off Winding Stairs Road and overlooking North Monument Creek. It's wedged in a crack between two boulders that are 5-6 feet across. I've included a spoiler photo. The challenge is getting there. The view is the reward.
The road/trail will get you very close to the cache. From there you can walk out on top of a ridge to get there. No climbing is involved if you find the right route. In the picture below the cache is in the middle from top to bottom and about 1/4 of the way from the right side.

There are 2 main ways to the cache.

1) You can drive Rampart Range Rd to Winding Stairs Rd(also called road 323 and drive until your vehicle can't take it anymore. The road was in very good shape up to the parking point listed below. After that you will need a 4X4 with decent clearance or you can walk about 1.3 miles to the cache.

2) You can hike up the Winding Stairs trail from Palmer Lake. I haven't gone this route but I estimate the hike is 5 miles each way. If you go this way let me know how far it is and I will update this page.

After you find the cache look across the valley to the south. You will see an area that may be of interest to you.

Thanks for the fun cache in a great location! Out on an afternoon cache run with CrumCrunchers to get to a few caches that we have had on our lists. The weather may not have been the best and afforded little to no views today but we managed to stay relatively dry and warm. After taking the leap, we headed over to this one. Well... Route does make a huger difference. I chose poorly and worked very hard for the find. CrumbCrunchers chose wisely. Signed the log and replaced as found. All is well here! Now for the easy way out!

There is an easy way and a hard way to the cache. I read the cache page and looked at the pictures before choosing my route. RPieperco was following his compass. Want to guess which of us took the easier route, lol! Eventually he made it back up to me and the cache. Sl, thanks!

I hiked down here from the leap of faith. I lucked out and walk right up to the cache. Everything is still in fine shape. TFTC.
