This is one of a series of caches that are associated with the local history with a focus on our family.

At the end of this road are the remnants of the Clymer's Rose Glen Dairy, built in 1947. Dudley Clymer became President and General Manager of the dairy in the early 1950s. He later sold the company in 1975. The drive-in had closed a number of years earlier. Please do not trespass beyond the road’s end as it is still owned by the Clymer family.

Retired Grand Junction firefighter Wayne Marks says he used to go to Clymer's Drive-In back in the late 1950's to get their "Ten hamburgers for $1.00."

In the summer and fall of 1963 our family lived in one of the 4 houses on the left at the end of the street. Only one of those houses is still standing today. My mom worked at the dairy and my dad sold insurance (door to door). I attended New Emerson Elementary school located about a mile to the east. New Emerson Elementary was built in 1931 and is still actively educating children. New Emerson Elementary ranked better than 98.9% of public schools in Colorado.

Since we were just under a mile from the school, there was no bus service. My dad decided that it was not safe for me to walk to school along a busy street so we moved to Palisade, about 13 miles east of this location.

Glad I read the comments before looking. You don’t need to go into the actual neighborhood to find this just pull into the dirt lot right as you turn onto the street to avoid the buzz killers! TFTC!
