Beautiful day and short hike with all the siblings, first time all five hiked together in 60 plus years. Cache is at the base of a large rock formation near two wooden poles that look like an "X".

A 1.88 mile hike along the Gunnison river on a well maked trail will lead you to an other trail head. As you are facing the gate look to your right and see the rock formation and at the base you will see two wooded poles that form the shape of an "X" like X marks the spot. In that area some large bolders made a small opening and that is where the cache is.

X appears to be gone but I was able to find the stash without it, a little bounce in this area so widen your search if lost. Thanks.

GZ is off by half mile but we were able to find based on intimate knowledge of the area. Owner needs to update coords as per shown. Team kekj.

YEAH! FOUND IT! and got an FTF to boot.

NEW COORDS ARE N38 49.736 W108 22.803
Using both Mapsource and Google maps have tweaked coords so you should be right on top of it even without the description BUT caution for the bounce and best follow description to make the final approach

I made a promise to the CO some 4 months ago that we would be back in the area and establish the coords at that time. We just had grand opening on the facility I have been building in Delta for the last 16 months and will be leaving by the end of this week. I was getting concerned that I would not be able to fulfill the commitment but decided that today was the day. Did not have time to do what we had long been planning way UP the canyon (find Archie Smith 1907) so grabbed a bike and made it out here in under 10 minutes, found in <3, spent +10 triangulating from several points with terrible GPS bounce and back to cachemobile in total of 32 minutes.

I had set a GZ waypoint using Google maps and found it to be off by only 26' but did not even use that to make the find, the directions are explicit enough if you know the territory - we do, as we have been in here twice making finds and setting several caches but never quite getting all of them. Knowing we are leaving we are going to publish the 2 we have already set to incite others to come find both this cache and the others on up the trail.
