A short hike to the foot (.4 miles) ... steep incline to the top.
Enjoy finding the cache and then hike a little closer to the summit for an outstanding view of the dam and the surrounding beauty.

If you intend on utilizing the area for more than finding the cache, make sure you purchase a Park Pass from the information area just west of the parking area. The Rangers will verify if you have a Pass if you are fishing. :)

The Eleven~

No more time to tell how
This is the season of what
Now is the time of returning
With thought jewels polished and gleaming

Now is the time past believing
The child has relinquished the reign
Now is the test of the boomerang
Tossed in the night of redeeming

Eight sided whispering hallelujah hatrack
Seven faced marble eye transitory dream doll
six proud walkers on jinglebell rainbow
Five men writing in fingers of gold
Four men tracking down the great white sperm whale
Three girls wait in a foreign dominion
Ride in the whale belly
Fade away in moonlight
Sink beneath the waters
to the coral sand below
Now is the time of returning

I declined to hunt for this one because I was confused about the route. I came to the designated parking area and there is a fence blocking access to GZ. Was there a break in the fence that I missed or is the fence been put up in the past year since the last finder? I had a full day planned, so I moved on. It is not my intent to criticize the cache, I’m just pointing out that I was unclear how to get to GZ or a fence has been placed since the cache description has been written.

If you are not interested in climbing a small mountain, don’t do it. But the view was great. Easily found once we made it to the top.

Wow over 2 years since a logged smilie! I love to go for these lonely caches. We found an easier way up on the other side but came down the steeper more direct route. The cache is still in good condition despite a few muggle logs. One lock ear has broken off though. TFTC!
