Takes less than an hour  Available at all times  Abandoned mines  Hunting  Short hike (less than 1km)

This is our first Geocache. Honestly, this area of our natinal forest needs a lot of TLC. There's some trash along this route so if you feel up to it, grab a trash bag and "Cache in Trash Out". We love these boulders and would love to see this area taken better care of.

It's a short hike up to the top of the ridge from the road. It would be easier to park along the road (carefully) a bit farther up from the bottom of Pile of Potatos and approach heading west. But the longer hike up through Pile of Potatos is fun.

It's a small/medium sized cache container and not super difficult.

We parked to the northeast -- at the pullout at the top of the hill, coming up from Woodland Park, and walked the easy and mostly flat 900 feet to the cache site. My 13 year old son found the container while yet once again, Dad was looking in the wrong spot.
The three listed trackables were not in the cache, but a previous finder says they rescued the TBs (that was 9 months ago, the last logged finder). I will send them a note asking if they have any info, but with over 52,000 finds and over 4000 trackables logged, I think they know what they are doing.
Anyway, we dropped off a Red Lego trackable, stamped the log and walked back to the car.
TFTC !
This was the first cache found while wearing my new geo-shirt that the Kidz got me for my birthday, which was earlier this week. Green with black writing, it has the famous JRR Tolkien quote "Not all who wander are lost" and then says "Some are just geocaching" Thanks Kidz ! Great gift !!!

Checked on logbook and container. Everything looks fine. Noticed someone was camping nearby.

Cache owner's first cache - Nice one! This is always a great area to spend time wandering the trails. And these huge rocks are spectacular. Thanks for giving us reason to get back out here. Grabbed two of the travelers to move along.

I guess that I'm the second person to find this cache. It's a good one on a beautiful trail if you can overlook the trash at the bottom. I normally pick up trash but a Walmart bag just isn't big enough. Thanks for taking me out on a wonderful trail.

This cache is the reason we came to Woodland Park today. WOO HOO! FTF at about 8:30 am. We parked and made our way up the hill to make the quick find. We left a few travelers for the next finders. Stamped the log and we're off to the next one. [8d][8d] SL TFTC
