This cache is exactly what it sounds like. An altoid tin on Pikes Peak. I enjoy hiding altoid tins. They are handy and can go just about anywhere. They are even big enough to hold some trackables. This cache is at 12,263 feet in elevation, so plan accordingly. Access is from the Pikes Peak Highway. Please pull off at one of the overlooks nearby and walk to ground zero.

Got here, and like others found the same view as the spoiler, but could find the altoids as far in as I could reach. I think it has probably been muggled and hopefully the CO will allow the next cache to replace the container.

I flew in from Virginia this week to summit Pike's Peak and grab the caches on my way up. Unfortunately, there was a freak blizzard that ruined most of the week except for yesterday. I was able to make it up to Devil's Playground (Mile 16) but the Summit at the top was closed off. It was below freezing and even though I spent about 45 minutes total (going up and going down) looking for the cache I came up empty. I sent some proof of presence photos to the CO showing that I was at GZ today within 14 feet sticking my hands in the snow desperately feeling for the altoid tin to earn the right of marking a smiley. Luckily, the CO granted me the right to log and I want to extend a huge thanks.

Unfortunately, I only packed summer clothes because the weather was supposed to be in the 70s/80s all week so when I got to GZ and there was snow I just jumped right in digging in the snow with my bare hands looking for the tin and my wife actually made me quit because I was shaking and out of breath so bad from the cold and extreme winds. After finally accepting defeat, my son and I climbed up to the top of rocks and took in the AWESOME view from this spot on the mountain before heading back to the car. At any rate, this is a beautiful location that you chose and we snapped tons of photos while we were on the mountain today. Thanks for the challenge!

On a Fall trip through Colorado doing some caching and seeing the sites. A beautiful scenic drive through Rocky Mountain National Park. Visiting the downtown areas of Boulder, Denver, Castle Rock and Colorado Springs to name a few. We enjoyed a beautiful hike on the Barr trail at the Summit of Pikes Peak. It was a wonderful trip with quite a bit of caching thrown in along the way.
We arrived at the entrance this morning and were second in line. When the ranger came by to talk with us they recommended we go straight to the top as there was an 80% chance of snow. We took her advice. We had sun on the way up and during our hike then the clouds rolled in and we endured snow, hail, sleet and rain on the way down. This made for an interesting day of caching with all the stops, but we survived and had fun. Thanks for placing this one.

MPLC

Our English is not perfect, we use Google Translate to help us ...

Our journey began last August 22 and will take us to visit twelve US states and two Canadian provinces ... Our departure was from Baie-Comeau, a city on the North Shore of Quebec and then continue for a few days in Quebec City where we did some Geocaching .... Then we stopped at St-Eustache and Ville de Laval, still in Quebec, and then flew to Portland, Oregon... We made stop in Umatilla on August 28 still in Oregon, August 29 in Boise, Idaho, August 30 in Twin Falls and August 31st we are in Salt Lake City for two days... The 2nd of september we were in Rock Springs. Wyoming and the september 3 the road brought us to Laramie, Wyoming... Today will be our second and final day in the Colorado Springs area

Throughout the trip we have targeted some caches that will help us achieve our personal goals and we will certainly discover new places that Geocachers here will want us to discover ... We have been planning this trip for several months and know we will not be able to not all see for lack of time ... There are many caches but we must close our eyes can not find them all ... But it is with pleasure that we will put our signature on some of them ...

Thank you for creating these caches that add smiles to our profile and make us have a good time regardless of the mood of Mother Nature ... Our log will be the same for the whole day and if there is a particularity we will add it at the beginning of the text ... Favorites will be added here and there for all the work done ... TFTC

Traveling in Colorado this weekend with Dagrandpa. The priority for the day was to attend an event at the top of Pike's Peak. We did some caching while traveling to and from the peak. Thanks to all the COs.

I stopped for this one on the way down and made the short climb up into the rocks. I wasn't having much luck, but then another cacher showed up, the one who had hosted the event atop Pikes Peak, and he was my good luck charm; I found the hiding place seconds later. However, despite the cache's title the container is no longer an altoids tin, but is a pill bottle instead. It is still a fine cache; it is nice to find a hide by this CO so far from Minnesota. Good job and TFTC!
