Just outside Lake City on cool trail with great views.
Walkable from town or take Alpine Street to BLM barriers/parking (private property beyond). Trail starts with steep uphill then is relatively flat. Great views of town, Henson Creek Canyon, Sugar Loaf, Station 11, and "T" Mountain. You are close when you see some old miner's diggings. Small red Pelican case w/ small treasures. Probably more than the miners found. Careful of the shaft near the trail!

Looked for a long time, pouring over the rocks and piles, but no luck. I was expecting a large pile of rocks covering a regular cache. But I certainly liked the hike from Alpine Rd. Thanks!

Spending the holiday weekend in Lake City, and after hiking Uncompahgre peak on Saturday we decided to cache around the town before heading out. Nice trail with beautiful views. Loved this short hike. TFTC SL and replaced as found.
