Dogs  Recommended for kids  Scenic view  Cliff / falling rocks

The cache is located up in the BLM lands below Mount Logan. The cache is a 30 caliber ammo can with lots of stuff.
The pond is down below the cliffs where the cache is located. It is a man-made pond fed by an intermittent stream. The pond serves as the water source for deer, elk, rabbit, coyote, fox and mountain lion. The cliffs are where the lions keep track of the comings and goings of the rest of their neighbors. They use the rocky ledges and boulders as cover as they make their way down to the bottom where the chase is fast, but short.

Good place to bring kids. Lot’s of plant life in the area. Use the deer trails and rocks to walk on. Don’t tread on the cryptogam. The terrain is fairly mild with the exception of the very last portion. Okay to bring your dogs. The lions like the small ones the best!

Congratulations to the go pokes for the FTF :0)

Oh goody, a hike-a-cache! I have driven past this cache sooooo many times. I have my geocaching app running on the iPhone on the dashboard as I drive by. I would say, "Look, there's Predator Pond!" (westbound) Then I would say, "Look, there's Predator Pond!" (eastbound) ad nauseum. It sounded so interesting, but alas, time. Today is the day! Awesome hike, I took a creative path through the wash. Aren't you supposed to rate the cache based on the most difficult part of the approach? Or, did I make the approach more difficult than it was? I think I just wanted the challenge. Pic shows my final approach to cache. (Kids! Don't try this at home or anywhere!) One of my hiking favs. Thanks!
