Looking towards Rifle
View of the Roan from the cache.

Cache is a lock-n-lock container hidden where there is a view. Pay attention to the terrain rating and please be careful. There is a nice pull out directly south of the cache.
The Grand Hogback is an amazing formation that runs from Meeker to New Castle. It is rapidly becoming one of my favorite places to hike and explore. Have fun. Pay attention above you as you approach the cache. There is a miniature arch and a broken arch above your head. If you continue on the road, it will take you to the old Hasse Coal Mine. I wouldn't take a car up this road as it is really rutted out right now. Past the cache the road is practically a jeep trail and there are some big rocks that have fallen down in the last little while. Have fun.

 Hints

The cache is at an elevation of approximately 6638 ft. If you are quite lower than that but really close horizontally, think higher. As you are standing on the road contemplating whether to go right or left, stick to the right.

Random find that introduced me to geocaching, great view! Box is in pretty rough shape, and stuffed to the brim.

Fantastic view! Found this with 2 of my buddies who hadn't gone geocaching before. Definitely worth both the drive and the hike. T-Playing cards L-Travel Bug

looked for this one a few weeks ago but the dogs gave up on me so had to abort. This time came back solo and hiked right to it, was not as bad as was expected even took same route. had the dogs known they were so close they would of gone on. Great hike I love these type of caches where you have to acually put a little efort in to it. But when I got to cache realized had no "swag" checked pockets,, GPS,9MM(moutain lion area)and 15 cents. So the kiddy in the cache is up to one dollar and fifteen cents.
Thanks for the cache TNSL, But did leave fifteen cents
PS cache is still in good shape!
