This cache is Only Accessible Going Towards Pueblo (east bound). If you are travelling the other direction please use an actual intersection / side street to make a safe turn-around. Do Not run across the highway or drive on the median. Bring Your Own Pen.
Do not go any farther than the rusty metal gate. The property beyond is private.
The original town of Penrose was constructed along the banks of Beaver Creek. Some of the old structures still remain, especially a bit more north. The town is now situated a few miles to the west.
I always see the neat abandoned structure out along the creek bank and wonder what it was and when it came from. Cache is a way to bring people here to see something that probably gets passed right by hundreds of times a day without ever getting noticed. If anyone knows the history or any facts of this place, please post them with your logs.
To see the abandoned structure please park at, or walk from the cache site, to N38 22.750 W104 57.112. I have added it as a waypoint. Once there look generally south along the creek bank.
