This lonely cache is lonely no more! OKLS1596 and I stopped to visit it this evening. We are from Stillwater, OK, and decided to spend our vacation in southwestern Colorado. We spent several days in Cortez, then today we moved our travel trailer to Montrose. When we got set up I solved this puzzle. I love puzzles!! I have not done many like this one so I do not have much practice at it, but I managed to figure it out pretty quickly.

The bigger challenge for us was getting to GZ. Somebody logged that a road went within 100 feet of the cache but we did not find it. We parked about 0.3 miles to the southwest and climbed the hill. We always take the hard way in and easier way out! We followed an ORV road most of the way up and all of the way down. I have my exercise for today! TFTC!

Good hide. After my second attempt at figuring the right co-ordinates and locating the road that led to within a hundred yards I found it. Once you have the right co-ordinates witch are dead on, not to hard to find.

Easy puzzle, easy find. What's up with that jake? LOL
Thanks for the fun of solving the puzzle and finding it.
Beautiful view of Montrose from here

Took the Ms. to GJT airport yesterday so did some caches for the numbers as had lots a daylight yet in the evening and lots of caches to choose from - Total of 14 finds with one FTF and one DNF in 4 hrs. Decided to go for quality rather than quantity today. Have been wanting to knock off several WAY out in the SW quadrant of Montrose, this was one of them.

At one time had ALL traditional caches IN Montrose found and lacked only 3 puzzlers. By the time we got around to figuring them out, our efforts to revived geocaching in the area seemed to have paid off but with negative aspects for US! We started working on the few remaining puzzlers and then someone would set a cache or two - or three, we would grab them, work on a puzzler, and then someone would set a SERIES . . . . . . and we are chasing our tail. Decided to clear up all the OLD caches in the area then would go back and look at the NEW. Got the two remaining active caches in this area, requested archive on Sheba Dog, then we went out 12 miles south to GEOCACHE which has been all but off the map and after contemplation decided to totally replace the cache (pieces) as it is an OLDIE back from 2002, one of the oldest around that I know off, would hate to loose it.

Looked and looked at this one, could not figure it out nor could find a web site that would. A few weeks back was talking to a fellow geocacher and they keyed us in on a couple of new web site "crackers" WOW do they work well! Both sites figured out the same number but one them took like 2.6 seconds to get it right! Actually spotted hide before I had truly arrived at GZ, log was a bit damp but sill serviceable, GREAT VIEW! thanks for bring us out here! Tried out our recently purchased S-10 Blazer ZR2 on some of the local hills (WOW does it climb them easy! GREAT little 4x4!) TFTC SL Visited bugs

Figured out the puzzle pretty easily and since my meeting wasn't until late morning today I figured I had plenty of time for a few caches. Hiked up the road as my car wasn't tough enough for the first part of the road. Got all the way to where the GPS said the cache should be and I hunted everywhere. I even branched out thinking I had transposed my numbers when entering them. After searching in vain I hiked back down to the car only to discover I had totally put the last three numbers in the GPS wrong. I was way off. I figured if I hurried back up the hill I could still find the cache and make my meeting. Got it to cache site and promptly sat in some pitch getting it all over the back of my pants and then my hands when I went to wipe it off. Sigh!!! So much for good first impressions!! Signed log, dashed back to car and went to my meeting smelling of pitch. Gotta say it was worth it!!

TFTC! Caching with SoldierGrrrl. We took the long way around and drove almost right to the cache. Not hard to find.
