Cowboy and Shane were driving a herd of cattle north up Cherry Creek Valley a few miles east of Mancos, Colorado. The trip had been long but uneventful, nevertheless, both cowboys were tired to the bone when they arrived at the Mancos stockyards. Just as they put up the last cow and were ready to look for a place to find a good meal, a hot bath and a comfortable bed, George Bauer spied the two cowboys.
"Shane", he called out, "What are you doing in town?"  Shane explained they were moving cows from Cherry Creek Valley to Dove Creek and resting the herd overnight.  George said, "Then you will be staying the night with me at the Bauer House."  A big smile came to Shane's face as Shane recalled how he had doctored George's lead mule a few years back when the mule had run a stick into it's leg.  Shane removed the stick, stitched up the wound and applied a poultice of medicinal plants.  He learned the formula from the southern Utes a few years back.  Cowboy and Shane agreed to spend the night with George but first they were headed to the Millwood Junction for a nice meal of steak, beans, and fresh bread.  George warned the cowboys not to trespass across the land now occupied by the Zumans.  He told them that they are fierce, unfriendly pack of settlers who didn't much care for man nor beast.  The cache is a black camo bottle with a log.  Bring your TOT to extract the log and a pen or pencil.

Out caching with (piker) as we are traveling west and south thru CO and the 4 corners headed to Flagstaff, AZ. We are trying to find caches in each of the counties we traverse along with challenges and virtual caches. We were quite successful. This was one of the ones we found.

Thank you very much for the cache.

SOLO in COLO ROAD TRIP

I took a trip to the Southwest, all alone.

I had a few caches targeted and some counties I can reach while down in the corner.

One is Tarryall. I've lived here for almost 6 years, driven passed it within 10 miles several times. I figure it was time to make the find. My truck made easy work of that road and a nice short walk to GZ.

Another is the loneliest puzzle cache. It has not been found for many years. I was the last to attempt it 4 years ago. Time to try again. The puzzle is so hard, I don't even remember how I solved it. I found it after some major help from the CO and then a co-FTF on his latest cache.

The third is the loneliest virtual. While it isn't that lonely, it goes the longest without folks visiting.

Of course, while I appreciate the other caches, the rest were just fillers to reach the 4500-cache milestone or random caches at places near where I stopped along with a few added to the trip to grab the last few counties in South and West Colorado

Thanks for the fun and the loneliest adventure!!
