Fun underwater cache hidden in a beautiful natural area. Durable nylon string attached to a thick tree branch on the shore of the pond, with the cache at the bottom of the pond on the other end.

Fun underwater cache hidden in a beautiful natural area that was an inspiration for a lot of childhood adventures for me and my best friends. Hopefully this cache will be a bit of an adventure for you. If you follow the canal service path from Lemay you can get to this natural area pretty easily. Off of the path there is a trail that branches into the natural area that leads directly to a small pond, and in a not too hard to find (for geocachers, of course) spot is the string it is attached to to pull it out. When replacing, please be sure to reseal very well, as there's no fun in a soaked cache.

I sent a note to the CO to check the cache. I think it has been vandalized or otherwise disturbed.

Found the string in the tree but nothing at the end, unfortunately. Nasty water in the pond - very brackish and smelly. No wading and looking for me. Yuk! Very cool idea and a beautiful spot. I'm surprised there are not more caches in this area.

Woohoo. This is a FTF for us. How can that be you might ask. Well, for us this was a first to FAIL. We tried for this one and could not find it. With the new coordinates the job was much easier. Thanks for the great cache. Ever consider coloring the string?
