This is a nice backcountry cache. It's located at the top of Turkey Roost, an interesting Ranked Peak in northern Larimer County that has an elevation of 7,734 feet. The summit can be reached with a modest rock scrambling effort; no technical or roped climbing is required if an appropriate route is chosen.

TURKEY ROOST

The summit of Turkey Roost affords awesome views of the rugged terrain that surrounds the peak. Enjoy your hike to the cache vicinity, and take time to appreciate the marvelous scenery!

Was hiking with friends and my puppy Orizaba today and one of our destinations was the summit of Turkey Roost. Took the opportunity to check on the cache. All is in good order.

Long time since no find, ran into doglover looking for the down below cache on the same day!

TFTC! My dog, Poudre, enjoyed the small pools of water near the summit. One of the top 10 great peaks in the county, IMO. It was neat looking nearly straight down on the N Fork of the Poudre.

Happy Thanksgiving! I said I would get back and I did. Last weekend I saw the new Turkey cache show up so it gave me even more motivation to get back. And what better day to look for a Turkey than today? I first got the FTF on Above a Turkey Roost and then had to come over here to see from this angle if it really is higher. Check out the pics. Thanks Denali41!

I hiked into the North Fork today with a couple of goals - first, to get a FTF on Below a Turkey Roost and second, to bowl a Turkey and get all three Turkey Roost caches. I scored on the first but didn't bowl the turkey, I only got a two bagger. It was raining so the rocks were slick, and I was solo. So when I saw the scrambling it would take to get this one, my cautious side ruled and I decided I would wait until another day to get up to the roost. I'll be back.
