Park at the parking area across from the Fish Hatchery and hike the dirt road to the west. You'll soon have to leave the road and hike up the hill toward the bat cave, follow the cairns and they will guide you close to the cache. The incline is slippery, it's covered with small rock.
The cache is a recycled hot chocolate container, camoed and tucked into a nook(in the rock). It contains a log, pencil and a lot of trading items.

This spot provides a great view of the hatchery.....It's where the rainbows start their journey. The hatchery is a fun place to visit as well as the other trails throughout the area.

Congratulations to the go_pokes on the FTF!

Beat around the wrong bush for a while and even looked on top of the cache site. Thought of one more place to check on the way down and Eureka!
GPS was indeed bouncing around. Found at N 39° 41.78754 W 107° 42.27408 if that helps anyone.

Spending our 4th of July around town. Came out and did this little hike before heading to the fish hatchery for some fish feeding. Oops, I was the one to fall down this mountain.

Beautiful Colorado Day. Fun find, my wife's family were homesteaders to this area at the turn of the century and ran cattle on Coulter Mesa. Her aunt has a lot of stories about this area. Thanks for the Cache.

Question Well I probably took the hardest way up because yes, your gps bounces around in this area so I just put it away and did a little climbing around and wella a rock cairn near GZ . SL and followed the cairns down easier down then up. I do have to agree with sbunch I didn't find it dangerous but fun. If you look at the hillside from the road and don't feel like getting a few scratches then stay there. Cactus were blooming, and view was great. will have to return and do a little cave exploration. I also think the difficulty level is right (just my opinion) THANKS darr it was a fun one. gets a fav for making me take the hardest way up.

Hey, if you can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch. Yes, the terrain is difficult. Fair warning has been given. A challenging hide, I really had to look. Did it in my Keen sandals. Well, maybe that wasn't so smart but we all make our own choices. Did enjoy the view. Cache is high and dry. In perfect condition. Thanks for getting me up the road a little farther!
