The cache is not at the listed coordinates but this is a good place to park.

James and Regina Rabbit found each other on January 1. On January 11, Regina had their first litter of two bunnies, one of which was a girl they named Caitlin. On January 21, Regina and her daughter Caitlin both had litters of two bunnies, again evenly split between boys and girls.

All the rabbits lived together happily. They kept reproducing without fear of predators, old age, starvation, or disease.

X = the number of rabbits in the colony on March 15th.
Y = the number of rabbits in the colony on March 25th.

The cache is X feet west and Y feet north of the parking coordinates.

You can check your answers for this puzzle on GeoChecker.com.

In the area where the cache is hidden, you are likely to see cottontail rabbits and may see jackrabbits. The Colorado Division of Wildlife states that Eastern Cottontails, Desert Cottontails, and Black-tailed Jackrabbits are all in the county. Mountain Cottontails and White-tailed Jackrabbits may also be present, depending on the exact environment. Perhaps you will even see one of the many predators that dines on the rabbits.

Thank you to mtn_goat for the cache container! We got it at the White Elephant Cache Exchange in December, 2006 (GCZMZ4).

 Hints

Although the cache is a micro, the actual container is somewhat larger. It is on the ground, about four feet from the edge of the oak thicket, near the base of one of the larger trees. If you see a black plastic zip-tie on a small tree branch, look down.

On a fun cache run with my mom this to end the year while the weather is nice! I didn’t realize how few geocaches I found this year! Guess that will be part of my resolutions. Thanks for placing and maintaining this awesome cache for us to find!

This is another one that I've had solved for years. The final was quick and easy today! Thanks!

Thanks to ernie I was able to hop along the trail and make the find. It still was tricky, but my determination was fierce (and the hint really helped).

Cache is ready to be found.

Owner Maintenance 07/29/2018 By ernie66
Stopped by to check on the cache today. The cache is still where it should be, cowering in the bushes. I added a new zip-tie on a branch just above to help locate it.

2 DNF's. Rabbits virtually disappear in thick vegetation, but I'll check on this one.

I searched the GZ and didnt see the cache nor the clue. Maybe Wiley E. Coyote made off with this one?

Caching and hiking in the Mt. Herman area today with geodog Dakota. Thanks for the fun puzzle cache! Log was full, left a replacement log. Put both the old log and the new one in a plastic bag to keep dry. SL.

Good thing gampa is a math teacher! He added up the explosion and got a green light on the coords. We could probably benefit from eating more carrots as our old eyes took a bit of time to zero in on this container. But when we did, it made us smile. Log was a bit damp but very easy to sign. Replaced as found and hopped on down the trail to the next cache. Thanks!

Happy 1616! I had solved & tried to find this several years ago but didn't know how to use Sight n Go on my Garmin ( didn't even know what it was). Of course I have learned how to use since but was never really sure of my math. I did get a confirmation & was correct from a previous finder so finally got the horses out today for a ride with this cache as a goal. When I started getting close I was worried I would be in a snow drift but we went over it to the other side & from there was an easy find. Have a carrot!
